Cedar Breaks National Park about 180 miles from Las Vegas, call 801/586-9548 for more information. Scenic overlooks reveal a gigantic multi-hued amphitheater with a beauty all its own. Ancient bristle-cone pines still live here among the junipers - evergreens which the pioneers mistakenly described as cedar trees. Brian Head Ski and summer resort are also here.
Bryce Canyon about 225 miles north of Las Vegas, call 801/834-5322 for more information. Brightly-colored red-rock formations stretch for miles in this geologic masterpiece. Pinnacles, spires, and hoodoos make for some wonderful photo opportunities.
North Rim Grand Canyon about 260 miles from Las Vegas, call 602/638-7864 for more information. The Grand Canyon, perhaps the world's most popular natural attraction, offers two exciting views-- one from the North Rim and one from the south. Historic Grand Canyon Lodge is the center for mule rides that take you to the canyon floor. Park tours and accommodations are available mid-May to late October.

Glen Canyon/Lake Powell is about 275 miles from Las Vegas, call 602/645-2471 for more information. The Glen Canyon National Recreation Area covers 1869 square miles, with 186 mile long Lake Powell as its centerpiece. Water-skiing, houseboating, and fishing are enjoyed year round. Five marinas provide camping and boat rentals. Hite's Crossing, Glen Canyon Dam, and Rainbow Bridge are sights not to be missed.
