Theme: "Sediment: Monitoring, Modeling, and Managing"
BACKGROUND: Federal Interagency Sedimentation Conferences (FISC) began in 1947, and the Sixth FISC was held in 1996. As a continuation of these highly successful conferences, the Seventh FISC will provide Federal and non-Federal scientists and managers from various disciplines the opportunity to discuss recent accomplishments and progress on research and technology developments in the physical, chemical, and biological aspects of sedimentation.
TOPICS: About 200 papers incorporating results of recent research and technology development and/or applications and case studies will be solicited for presentation on the following subjects as well as any additional sediment-related topic:
| Data Collection | Processes |
|
Instrumentation and Calibration

FIELD TRIPS and SHORT COURSES: Several field trips and short courses are planned for before and after the conference.
EXHIBITS: An exhibit hall is planned. Exhibitors are being solicited in the following areas: Surface-water, sediment, and water-quality data collection, recording, and analysis equipment and software; laboratory equipment; erosion control products; computer hardware and software for collection, distribution, and/or analysis of hydrologic data; surveying equipment, both for land and underwater use; and any other related equipment, services, or organizations related to the theme of the conference.
WHO SHOULD ATTEND: Federal, State, and local agency personnel, consultants, researchers, equipment manufacturers, and service suppliers involved in water-resources, water-supply, or water-conservation assessment or management, especially those associated with sedimentation or non-point source pollution.
