Subcommittee on Hydrology
Goal- To improve the availability and reliability of information needed for:
    -  Hazard mitigation
    -  Water supply and water use management
    -  Environmental protection

Function - Analyze relevant issues and prepare position papers or recommendations for ACWI deliberation
Membership - Organizations that collect, analyze, disseminate or use hydrologic and related data and those that develop monitoring technology, guidelines and standards
Subordinate groups - May be established to gather information, conduct research, and analyze relevant issues for the Subcommittee

Flood Frequency Analysis
    Two recent NRC reports have identified research needs
      -  Improved measurements of extreme floods
      -  Assessment of long-term stationarity of floods
      -  Improved methods for flood-frequency estimation
      -  Coordinated and cooperative flood risk reduction management
