In response to your request, I am suggesting some emerging water issues that the Advisory Committee on Water Information (ACWI) might wish to address.

1. TMDLs. - How are they derived within a stakeholder consensus building process and then allocated among stakeholders?

2. Valuation of ecosystem services. - This is intimately connected to the subjects of natural resource stewardship and ecosystem restoration, banking, trading and management.

3. Estuary and coastal water eutrophication.

4. Nutrient criteria.

5. Biological criteria.

6. Sediment criteria.

7. Reuse of waste water and other technological approaches to water conservation.

8. Application of constructed wetlands for water treatment.
