In 2008, three formal means of non-monetary recognition were adopted by the SOS, to wit:

2. SOS SOS Project Development Award, (to any non-SOS person) (click here for nomination/approval/plaque inscription/presentation details)

3. SOS Outstanding Service Recognition Award, (to an SOS member or alternate, present or past) (click here for nomination/approval/plaque inscription/presentation details)

In June 2010, an additional formal means of non-monetary recognition was adopted by the SOS, to wit:
